Alex joined the firm in 2003 and is a Director and Financial Adviser. 

He oversees the firms compliance, as well as giving financial advice specialising in particular in Investments. 

As part of the board, Alex is involved with the discussions in relation to the future strategy of Applewood and has implemented many new systems and technologies over the years including the new Applewood App for Iphone and Android. 

Alex is working towards Chartered qualification and will eventually take over from David and Kay in running Applewood Independent in the future. 

Previously to that he completed a full-time higher education course in Music, which is a continuing passion of his today.

Outside of work, Alex enjoys going the gym, and karting regularly. He recently placed second in the fastest DMAX class in the 2016 Daytona 25 hour karting event, held once a year attracting teams from all over Europe. 

David is the Joint Managing Director of the company and lead Independent Financial Adviser for Applewood Independent. 

He started working in the financial services area for the Prudential in 1980 and spent six very happy years with them. He then moved on to a large insurance company for twelve months acting as a Broker Representative. David missed the direct contact with individual clients, as opposed to dealing with IFAs, and became an Independent Financial Adviser himself in 1987.

David has held senior positions with a number of IFA companies, including director of a discretionary manager and has been a fully qualified Independent Financial Adviser for over 30 years and is a Member of the Personal Finance Society. He has advanced qualifications in taxation with investments, inheritance tax planning, retirement options and pension investment options. He is also a top qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table.
